  3. 2 medium size tomatoes finely chopped

  8. 2 tbsp coriander powder
  9. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  10. 2-3 green chillies finely chopped

  13. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  14. 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
  15. 1/4 tsp cloves powder
  16. Handful coriander leaves
  17. 1/2 cup oil
  18. 1 tsp sabzi masala(optional)

Steps to make to make Punjabi Nutri keema

  1. Wash the soya chunks then soak it for an hour after soaking it will double in size then squeeze all the water from it. Now heat up 4 tbsp oil in a pan and add the soya chunks and fry them on medium flame until they turn golden brown. Then take it out and in the same pan add oil then ginger and garlic paste and saute till the rawness goes away then add the onions and mix well.
  2. Now add 1 tsp salt and mix again. Cook till get translucent then add the tomatoes and mix well. Lower the flame cover it and cook till tomatoes get softened and mushy. Now add all the spices and mix again. Cook the spices very well until the oil oozes out. Now add tomato paste and mix well again cook for 2 minutes. While the spices are cooking meanwhile let's grind the fried soya chunks just like mince.
  3. Grind the soya chunks in pulses don't run the mixer grinder for too long and grind it when it comes on room temperature. Then add this soya mince or keema to the fried spices and mix very well then cook it on high flame until fried well and all the moisture dried out. Then add a cup of water mix it and cover it. Cook it on low flame for 15 minutes then put the flame on high for 2 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves to it mix it and off the flame.
  4. Punjabi nutri keema is ready to be served. Serve it with roti, chapati, naan, phulka, kulcha, chur chur naan or amritsari kulcha or whatever you desire. Make it and enjoy it.
