Instructions to make to make Dal palak
- Wash dal thoroughly under tap water and transfer to a pressure cooker. Add water, salt, and turmeric. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Wash and trim spinach leaves. Roughly chop the leaves. Set it aside.
- Now heat a pan. Add ginger-garlic paste. Cook for a minute. Add chopped onions and cook until onions are translucent.
- Add tomatoes and spices. Mix it well. Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add spinach leaves and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in cooked lentils and mix until well blended. Bring it to boil.
- Now for final tempering. Heat a pan add ghee, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and asafoetida. Pour this tempering over the dal just before serving. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves. And it's ready to serve.
